CITYSCAPE 2007 – AyDo™ & Arne Quinze
In 2007, the Cityscape project was unveiled in the heart of Brussels. Positioned at the center of daily urban life, this large-scale wooden sculpture stood out not only for its scale but also for its strategic location within the city’s most dynamic area.
The structure, made entirely of natural wood, posed significant fire risks due to its exposure to outdoor conditions. This challenge was met with the implementation of AyDo™ Flame Safe.
Developed by Ayhan Doyuk, the technology created an invisible shield over the entire structure without altering its natural appearance. The application process was environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and safe for human health. Once treated, the wood became completely resistant to ignition, even when exposed to direct flame.
This intervention ensured not only the preservation of the artwork’s aesthetic value but also the safety of the public space in which it was placed. The project ultimately proved that art and technology can coexist in harmony—providing both visual impact and environmental security.
September 14, 2007 – Where Art and Technology Meet in Brussels
On September 14, 2007, the large-scale public art installation Cityscape was officially unveiled in one of the most central locations of Brussels. Created by Belgian artist Arne Quinze, the structure was safeguarded by the AyDo™ Flame Safe fire protection system, developed under the leadership of Ayhan Doyuk.
Throughout the installation process, the area was enhanced with carefully placed stone flooring, wooden seating arrangements, and a distinctive architectural setup. As preparations unfolded in a festival-like atmosphere, one of the most captivating elements for visitors was the technical protection of the sculpture itself.
Ayhan Doyuk traveled from Turkey to Belgium to personally introduce and demonstrate the fireproofing solution applied to the Cityscape structure. Thanks to this innovative treatment, the artwork—constructed primarily from natural wood—was rendered entirely resistant to fire and environmental threats.

"No more wires, no more metal — only 100% safe water."
AyDo™ Super Ionized Water opens a new era in power transmission, being both 100% insulating and 100% conductive. Future wireless technologies flow through this water.

This demonstration reveals the power of AyDo™ Flame Safe. The t-shirt in the background was first treated with the Flame Safe solution, then soaked in gasoline and ignited—it remained intact. In contrast, the t-shirt in the front, soaked only in water and gasoline, was completely reduced to ashes.

This test used wood from the actual Cityscape structure. The pile on the right was treated with AyDo™ Flame Safe and did not burn. The pile on the left was unprotected and burned completely. The difference between the two flames is clearly visible.

Ayhan Doyuk is seen inspecting the CITYSCAPE installation on-site. The wooden sample in his hand was used during live fire resistance tests. This moment reflects how the technology is not just theoretical but practically demonstrated in the field.
This demonstration using AyDo™ Super Ionized Water reveals how even highly polluted water can return to its natural form within seconds. The experiment shows that AyDo™ technology is not only about fire protection—it also embodies the regeneration of nature. Even in an urban art project like CITYSCAPE, the revival of water takes center stage.

The CITYSCAPE structure is located in the very center of Brussels, positioned along Avenue de la Toison d’Or between La Porte de Namur and La Porte Louise. With its striking presence, the public sculpture has become a bold symbol of urban design.

These photographs were taken from the top floor of the Hilton Hotel. Viewed from above, the CITYSCAPE sculpture draws attention with its organic form and seamless integration into the urban landscape.
The CITYSCAPE project became a landmark example of how art, nature, and safety can coexist in perfect harmony. With the integration of AyDo™ Flame Safe technology, the project delivered more than a sculpture—it conveyed a message:
A protected future is built in harmony with nature.
This collaboration stands as clear proof that when used wisely, technology does not oppose nature—it evolves with it. Today, CITYSCAPE is not just a structure, but a symbol of transformation.
